CASA is a volunteer-driven advocacy program for children and youth from birth to 18 years old involved in the foster care system who appear before the Juvenile Court in dependency hearings. Our organization advocates for the following services deemed essential to the well-being of a child:
• Medical and preventative services
• Counseling and mental health services
• Educational services
Our volunteers are screened, trained, and supervised to advocate in the best interest of children in foster care ensuring that all necessary services are provided to them. Once sworn-in as a CASA, our volunteers meet with their appointed child(ren) monthly, gather information from all parties involved with the case, and share their recommendations with important decision-makers including the Juvenile Court Judge during court hearings regarding the child and his/her family.
