Program Information

CASA is a volunteer-driven advocacy program for children and youth from birth to 18 years old involved in the foster care system who appear before the Juvenile Court in dependency hearings. Our organization advocates for the following services deemed essential to the well-being of a child:
• Medical and preventative services
• Counseling and mental health services
• Educational services

Job Description

Our volunteers are screened, trained, and supervised to advocate in the best interest of children in foster care ensuring that all necessary services are provided to them. Once sworn-in as a CASA, our volunteers meet with their appointed child(ren) monthly, gather information from all parties involved with the case, and share their recommendations with important decision-makers including the Juvenile Court Judge during court hearings regarding the child and his/her family.

Requirements

  • 21 years old

  • Pass background check

  • Have a heart for children

Hours


The hours range from 2-15+ hours/month. These hours can be from visiting with your child at school, at their placement, or contacting the casework, the foster parent, etc.
