Program Information:

The River Valley Area Agency on Aging (AAA) plans and supervises programs and services for improving the quality of life for senior adults. The AAA is a function of the River Valley Regional Commission in Columbus, Georgia.

The AAA provides seniors opportunities to maintain their activity, independence and dignity through a comprehensive, coordinated system of services and support. The AAA assesses need, advocates for seniors, engages community support, coordinates program funding, and monitors and evaluates the work of service providers to ensure that seniors receive high quality assistance.

Counties served: Chattahoochee, Clay, Crisp, Dooly, Harris, Macon, Marion, Muscogee, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Stewart, Sumter, Talbot, Taylor and Webster Counties.

Job Description:

Data entry, answering phone and taking messages; survey collection, helping with organizing community health fairs, wellness and caregiver presentations, preparing and developing community outreach events.


A background check may be required. Although no formal dress code exists, RVRC employees are required to wear articles of clothing suitable to the type of work employees do and the work environment in which employees work. Articles of clothing should be neat, clean, in good taste, and not constitute a safety hazard. Fridays are considered a more casual day at the office and jeans may be worn. Interpretation of this code will be left to the Executive Director with regard to suitability of attire.


Office hours: 8 AM - 5 PM Monday-Friday, Students' preferred hours: 9 AM - 3 PM any weekday.
